Different early learning centers focus on different teaching philosophies and formats but at their very heart, the core principle is to focus on the role of imagination in learning as well as on the development of a thought process that includes a creative as well as an analytic component. These institutions believe that every child has a unique destiny to fulfill and the education system should be aimed at helping him/ her in fulfilling that destiny. The ultimate goal of any system of teaching is to provide young people the basis on which to develop into free, morally responsible and integrated individuals.

When it comes to early childhood education, these learning centers usually follow the imitation and example approach. The teachers try to create an environment that gives children time to play and encourage them to exercise their imagination and learn to conjure up ideas from within themselves. This is the time when a child learns to set his mind free, explore possibilities, discover how to relate socially with a peer group and take part in fundamental life tasks. Their methods of teaching are also quite different and more effective. Simple homely tasks and artistic activities to both do and see are balanced with storytelling, singing games and generous play times. Free, creative play is considered the best preparation for self-realizing adult life. Outdoor play periods are also included with the intention of providing children with experiences of nature, weather and the seasons of the year. All in all, your child will get a comprehensive exposure, learning and development if you enroll him/her in one of these schools.

If your child is ready to enter into playgroup, most cities have a wide range schools that you can opt for. A simple search on the internet will produce a huge list of options for you to choose from. The task will then progress onto finding the best one by making comparisons on their experience in the field, quality of education imparted, fees structure, parent feedback and overall reputation in the city. Learning Arabic – Classical Or Modern?

In Arabic, the modern dialect and the classical dialect are actually quite similar, more so than ancient and modern versions of other classical languages. Absent some stylistic differences, and some basic constructions in grammar, the similarities are remarkable, and yet a little deceiving at the same time.

Of course, modern Arabic, like all other languages, contains words which do not exist in classic Arabic. Words like car, plastic, engine, etc. obviously did not exist in the ancient language. And some lexical meanings of words have also changed over time.

Like all evolution, the transition from classical to modern happened gradually. If one must define a cut-off point, one would not be too far off if one pointed to the middle of the 19th century.

Any decision about which version of Arabic to learn must be driven by the ultimate goal. On the surface, it would seem to make sense for many to study modern standard Arabic. However, if the primary goal is to study and analyze the Qur’an, then the best course of action might be to study classical Arabic.

No matter which choice one makes, it is very feasible to then extend one’s knowledge to learn the other, because of the similarities referred to above.

Either way, one should not forget that both modern standard Arabic and classical Arabic are essentially compromises. Each has variations.

In modern times, each part of the Arab world has different versions, or dialects. This means that people from different Arab regions might have mild to extreme difficulty understanding the version spoken in a different region.

The same can be said for classical Arabic. In the earliest times, each tribe had its own version, and these differed considerably. In or about the 10th century, two versions emerged as primary – Basra and Kufa. These became dominant.

For those who wish to analyze the Qur’an, learning classical Arabic is only the beginning. There is also the Hadith, and other principles of religious education, such as morality, piety, and logic. But it must start with learning Arabic, and in this case classical Arabic, unless there is also a desire to use the language for purposes over and above Qur’an study.

Whichever branch one decides to study, always remember that it is relatively easy to grasp the other, because of the large overlap and similarity.

Learning Management Software – Providing Support to E-learning

It is really hard being a teacher especially when you have multitude of classes that you must handle. Memorizing the names of all the students is hard enough and managing their progress, their skills, their achievements and other data about them is quite a tedious task. What more if there is a huge number of students taking the course? When electronic learning was introduced to the market, it was warmly acknowledged by the market. The education industry showed a very positive response to this modern education platform. Working students and undergraduates became the dominant subscriber of this modern learning method. According to Ambient Insight Research, the growing number of e-learners will quadruple in next 4 years. It is estimated that 81 percent of post-secondary students in the USA will be taking some or all of their courses online by 2014.

Although this modern teaching system is capable of teaching a multitude number of students managing them is another thing. This is where Learning Management software comes in. This software application’s main purposes are consisting of documentation, reporting, tracking of training programs and other administrative purposes. It delivers online learning and training process of corporate companies and learning facilities like universities and colleges. Learning management system or LMS is quite similar to VLE or Virtual learning Environment in terms that it allows instructors and lectures to manage training and education courses and switch over information with elearners within the scheduled time frame. To put it in a more layman’s term, if a teacher has an assistant teacher that helps him/her in managing him/her pupils, LMS is the software counterpart of the assistant teacher in the virtual learning environment.

There are many characteristics of a learning managing system. The following are few of its many characteristics:

Overall Management

This software application is responsible for managing users, roles, courses, facilities, instructors and it even generates reports.

Course Calendar

Time is essential in online training and learning. Creating a course calendar depends on the objective of the education module.

Student Notification

Another characteristic of the system is providing updates and notification for students through messaging. Learners are given notification of upcoming test and other activities.

Assessment and Evaluation

The system is also responsible for the evaluation of each pupil. It compares track record and data of each learner before and after the training program to determine the learner’s progress and know if the training program is effective.

Score and Transcript Display

The managing system also is responsible for displaying results, scores, transcripts of each user complete with analysis of each user’s progress.

LMS is vital and essential for universities and college who offer electronic learning because this application enables entities to align learning initiatives with strategic goals. It makes global certification efforts simpler and most importantly, it can provide a means of enterprise-level skills management. With the continuous growing number of e-learners, it is more difficult to handle each student, which is why business solution companies continue to develop better learning management software that will support computer based learning.
